Painting Interior Dash? Dash removal?

Post by b1ondie86 »

I'm sure I've seen somewhere how to take apart the dash so you can paint the air vent surrounds to colour code the interior etc. but I can't remember how I found it? Can anyone provide a guide on this? Also, I'm not sure what kind of paint would be suitable, I'm guessing you would probably need to layer it with a primer and lacquer - if anyone is anymore knowledgable about this than me(that would be most people), it would be a huge help.

Lol, I'm already causing chaos on this forum with all my questions...sorry peeps

Yes it can, you need to get a thin bladed screwdriver in at one side and lever, and then do the same on the other side to get it off.

I don't know about the air vents, but the centre console goes something like this:
  • Remove the radio, top storage tray, card holder, cup holder and climatronic plastic cover.
There should be 8 Torx bolts, 2 by the climatronic controls, 2 by the storage tray, 2 behind the radio and one behind both the card holder and the cup holder.
There are also 2 Torx bolts under the climatronic panel which need to be removed.
Push out the switches for the hazard lights and the rear demister from the back and unplug them.
    Remove the centre console.
Haynes describes it pretty well to be honest, but hopefully that description will help you guys out 8)

Thanks Beijing, once translated that website is really good! Let's see - I found changing the indicator holder from orange to whatever colour you like (think I'll be trying that one), centre and lower console removal (wahoo!), installing Skoda chrome door pins (defo doing that at some point) and changing that little red LED light on the door locks to blue!

mind you that it's only for the climatic version, not for climatronic.
found this a while ago, to bad, it would sell better if they had a version for the climatronic :|
