car is juddering... loss of power... engine rocking... HELP

on the way back from a fireworks display with the mrs went over a speed bump and hit what i can only assume was the sump, now when i acellerate my car judders like its hesitating. the ride becomes jumpy untill i lift off the acelerator any ideas what it is ?

wether its just old ht leads or too much oxygen mixing with the petrol ?

is me giving the sump a smack related do you think... i did notice it juddering previously but nowhere near as bad as it is now and before the speed bump ity wasnt juddering at all.

help...

ok update, went to take it for a test run following yesterdays tantrum, and its worse... my engine light is flashing then it stays on then it flashes again and so on and so forth... there is absolutely no power to the car whatsoever, the engine is very loud and rocking so that it makes the car rock a little and the fumes coming out my exaust are not continues its in like intermittent bursts... WTF ?!?!

is it spark plugs, ht leads, coil pack... ????

please help lol

ive whittled it down to either coil pack or ht leads gdecided to give my ht leads a good clean tomorrow

by the way whats the best way to clean them and what with ?

and next week im gonna go GSF and replace the leads if after the clean the problem persists.

and if its still bad the coil pack.

would have got them today but ive paid loads in renewing insurance yesterday and am a little short.

does anyone know if this replacing the coilpack could fix the problem, my friend noticed one of the thingys on my current pack wasnt sparking and thats why its misfiring... ?

It could fix it, but realistically you need to get it plugged into vagcom to diagnose the fault.

i passed by GSF on the way to work this morning bought a new coilpack fitted it there and then (by the way its a number 5 allen key you will need if yours goes) started her up engine light off, nice calm smooth running engine and the fumes out my exaust flow better than the river thames... id even say it runs smoother than it did before, its nice to know my tax rebate check ( which arrived today ) can still be spent on some new wheels ha ha

so if anyone else gets this problem i hope this thread helps
