Post by vdub10 »

OMG very worried right now as some of you may no i bought my polo 6n noing headgasket had gone. so did it all working fine and still does run like a dream.
only thing that worrying me is it white smokes on a moring (I no its cold etc etc) but 7miles down road still does it. anyway got home tonight checked under filler cap to find white gunk. water level doesnt seem to have dropped maby a fraction. and i no it burns oil always has. i keep filling it up. i just got this nasty feeling head gone again.
there is no white gunk on dipstick when engine warm and cold. so maby noting to worry dunno.
cant belive this

to be honest the white gunk is a first sign, take it straight back to garage who did it to have a look!

if u drive it more you could make it worse

Some cars smoke longer than others - just depends on how much moisture is in the exhaust.

Also, if you only do short journeys, white mayo like substance can collect on the oil cap as the engine isnt running to full power very often so it isnt getting flushed through.

IF the heads gasket's gone its usually a good idea to get the head skimmed too
