dash warning lamp

i have hit a bit of a snag with my 2000 Polo GTi....... This morning it would not start whatsoever. There is a warning lamp that has illuminated and due to being unable to find the manual, im not sure what is wrong. The lamp is orange and is basically an ! in a triangle with an arrow going around it. Anybody know what this is?

Thats the traction symbol, but that shouldnt light unless you have had a battery reset.
