Try ...

bell - don't seem to mind mods, just replace bits with original bits if u claim.

Sky insurance - speciase mainly in jap cars I think. But insure all cars and good with mods. my bf a
Got a great deal for his G40.

Brentacre - apparently dnt charge extra for mods

Dimond - apparently good for mods, but apparently not great for claims :S

third party fire and theft came up cheaper than third party only or fully comp for me...
i'm with adrian flux, and i'm gonna be paying 2k a year when i pass... 1.0l polo E, no mods!

i'm sure you've already done this, but i found that putting mum and dad on as named drivers dropped the price a fair bit?

When I first got my 1.4 Polo (18), was with Direct Line as they offered a No Claims Bonus for named drivers. I paid £2500 for the year.
However, when finding a cheaper quote a year later Im not allowed to take the No Claims with me.

Currently I'm with Admiral for £1500. Thats fully comp, 1 Accident, in my name, with my mum, dad and girlfriend on the policy.
When its up for renewal in July it will be down to about £600-650. (I've checked, subject to change of coarse.)

I can now get insured on my parents 2.0 Golf TDI for just over £1000!

Insurance for young drivers is a nightmare. Just gotta bite the bullet sometimes.....or get your dad to pay in full and you pay him monthly. Thats what I currently do.
