Hi has anyone got any tips for removing the bolts for the inner part of the drvers side driveshaft.Im trying to remove the sump to replace the gasket and the driveshaft is in the way of some of the bolts.I've had a go at removing the bolts (the splined bolts) and i'm worried i'll end up rounding the inside of them off.
Any help would be much appreciated thanks.

make sure you use the correct splined tool. if you go into a motorfactors & tell them what it's for they should be able to find you the proper thing.
IIRC its a 8mm 12-spline key.
when you put it into each bolt, hammer it in before trying to undo. shouldn't have any problems then, I've taken loads of driveshafts off with no probs. just remember to hammer it right in.
do you know theres 2 bolts on the sump you cant get to because of the gearbox?
well if you take the flywheel inspection plate off & turn the engine by hand (using a socket on the bottom pulley) two slots in the flywheel will come round which line up perfectly with the sump bolts. this allows you to just be able to get a socket on an extension bar through!

to get mine undone I had to use a wheel bolt in the hub with no wheel on and use the wheel unbolter type thing against the ground so the driveshaft wouldnt turn. Prob not how its supposed to be done but it worked for me!
I've done it 2 ways. If the brakes are still on & you've got a mate round to help, get them to press the brakes whilst you un-do them.
or if you're on your own, put it in gear when undoing each bolt.
