seriously thinking of getting a new GTi
come on guys that have them
my 1.8t is costing me loads to run, its coming up to 3 years old, so will start losing value soon if i dont sell it/trade it in
so... some of you have had the 9n3 gti before
weigh up some pros and cons please!
9n3 gti vs 6R gti
im not too bothered about speed/power etc, cos i know it wont be as nimble and quick as a mapped and lowered 9n3
im just more or less interested in running costs...
how much is the tax a year? fuel costs? etc... how many miles do you get to a tenner?
have you got used to the DSG? i drove one 'spiritedly' and i ended up flashing oncoming traffic rather than shifting down a gear haha!
help me guys and gals!
Thanking you in advance!

Re: seriously thinking of getting a new GTi
It's a no brainer 6R GTI is great! Average 37-38 mpg over 2300 miles that I have covered do far. It is great fun and pretty quick too. Not had a Polo before as I had a Golf GTI ED30 before so its not as quick or as sharp to drive but I am not disappointed with the 6R so you can forget about the fact that you have a mapped 9n!
As I have said in previous posts DSG is the future it's like having your cake and eating it as it is the best of both manual and auto! I like you wanted to save money and have fun and I have got what i wanted so just go for it.

The Italian's, love them........... but they are difficult to live with. I have nearly bought a number of Fiat Arbaths and Alfa Cloverleafs in the past but my head has always been stronger than my heart and then bottled itoliverpologti wrote:me to kc

Re: seriously thinking of getting a new GTi
Options are a personal choice so you go for what you want. However I do agree the convenience pack and winter pack are good. MFSW is also good. I would recommend the RCD510. I did not go for climate as it comes with air con and Xenons are expensive when you can upgrade STD halogens cheaply. Price looks ok but you could try for more discount or further options included?
