refinement

Odd thing to want but does it get quiter an more refined with more miles on even in d i found it never really calmed down

im coming from a really quiet dci clio im not use to a growl an whine trying to provoke me into puting my foot down i just wondered if it softens with a few miles on as the demo car had only 2k on

I assume you are talking about the GTI? If you were in D then you just have a heavy right foot if you drive it in manual using paddles or stick then there wont be the same kick down. Due to the refined nature of the Polo and Golf ranges VW have had to introduce engine induction noise into the cabin of the GTI by the use of a resonator on the bulk head ( I know this for a fact on the Golf and assuming the same for the Polo as it has the same effect). None of the other models have this (have driven a few) and as a result are quieter. I have had my Polo GTI for 3 months now and think it sounds better now than it did when I first picked up. No 1.4 should really make this good a noise

So in summary if you want refined go for a GTI but I you want quiet as well go for an SEL.

in 7th on the motorway they are quiet put your foot down and all hell brakes loose i love mine only had it a week but its awesome on the motorway then when you want a play it sounds really nice
