Brembos - Will they fit?

Post by blkpolo »

Will a MK4 Golf Gti brembo kit fit my 9N3 GTI? My mate has offered me his for a good price. Im told the MK4 brembos are different to the Leon Cupra R brembos, although both cars share the same chassais the actual calipers are different. The discs are 323mm Im running BBS RC's 17x7.5 ET35. I reckon I would at least need spacers as there doesn't look like there is a great deal of room between the inside of the wheel and the current calliper (288mm's).
What fitting brackets would be required?
I also have a 312mm and 256mm rears sitting that could go on, what are peoples opinions on braking power? The car is running about 200bhp at the moment, hopefully more in the future.

Cheers for any help!

I mate Mk4 golf's never came with Brembo calipers.

I am running the Seat Leon Cupra R 323mm disc and brembo calipers and the fit behind Audi TT Comps 7.5x17 ET 38 with no spacer so think you may be ok.

If the bolt to his Mk4 the will bolt to your Polo 9n GTI.

Is he using Seat or Porsche brembos?

If he is using 312mm discs the will probs be porsche brembos.
If he is using 323mm discs then they will be Seat ones.

I had 312mm brakes with std rears and tarox pads and running 225bhp and 256 torque and my car stopped no problems now with the brembos the breaks are even stronger :-)

Hope this helps

Thanks 9N3 Turbo! you have helped guided me on this issue before. I know they are running 323mm discs, did you only have to get an adapter when you were running 312mm discs?

Thats the kit that's on the Seat Leon cupra r.

Get the discs calipers and carriers off him and they will bolt on to your car.

Job done and great breaking

They look the business too
