Mr Blobby's Progress Thread
Re: Mr Blobby's Progress Thread
I have the 1st Gear Transmissions box in the car now, best box i have had on the polo to be honest, the gears are so tight it feels brand new.
The box was fitted by 1st Gear in their unit in Kent as i couldnt wait for them to send it out to me.

Feels pretty good, slightly better ratio's than my original box but it does feel a little too tight for my liking, especially when changing down the gears.
Its only just been fitted though so i'm sure it will feel much smoother once its done some more miles
Re: Mr Blobby's Progress Thread
Mine was done in august last year and its still really tight, especially when putting it into reverse, i love it to be honest.

Re: Mr Blobby's Progress Thread
Im really pleased with the new exhaust. It sounds really 'rumbly' and backfires when i change down gearsTrottagti wrote:Coilovers look amazing, adjustable top mount aswell??
Hidden looks awesome aswell, bigger box than mine but still amazing....
Getting there matey...
How loud is your hidden box then?
Yeah
CheersEndi_GTI wrote:Looking epic dudeI really need to up rate my exhaust but i really don't know what to get. Im reasonably low but don't know wether to go hidden, or get a Jetex system and cut the bumper. i do like the look of twin pipes. Is this a Powerflow hidden job mate? How does it sound?
Cheers, Matt
Well its personal preferance as it is with everything but I could see myself getting addicted to lowering it so thats why ive gone hidden and I like the 'smooth euro' look so it will suit my car well...
Yeah its a powerflow supplier thingy, It is from the centre section backwards and only cost me £150
Thankyou6N2 GTI 00 wrote:Nice Update MateThose coilovers look very nice indeed.
How much did those bad boys set you back?
They were about £500 But retail they are £860
This is them...http://www.yellow-speed.com/dynamic-pro-sport.php

If your gears are loose at the gearstick and you want faster gear changes then yes.
Since i have had the new gearbox fitted, they have adjusted all the gears so it feels like a brand new car again[/quote]
I think ill keep my eye out for one then. My gearbox isnt that bad as its already been reconditioned but i think it would just be nice to have one...
Progress should contine slowly I hopeVerity wrote:Nice motor mr. Blobby![]()

Re: Mr Blobby's Progress Thread
Well me and my dad tried puttin on the coilovers this weekend but this is my first time doing any suspension mods so it was a bit slow.
We slowly got our heads around all the little adjustments available on the coilovers and the rear ones when in very easy but when we went to put the front ones on the camber plates were wrong...
They went in the three holes and aligned up with the two bolts at the bottom but the camber plates were not facing each other like they are meant to...
Pictures to try and explain what i mean. Its hard to explain...
But we sent a template to the supplier and apparently they have made new plates and will be sending them out friday
But I wanted the coilovers on by this weekend as Im going to Gti fest at santa pod...

Hope that makes some sort of sense

Re: Mr Blobby's Progress Thread
Yeah, I payed 500 for them but I got them cheaper because I bought them off a trader, thus the discount.
And hopefully they will be fitted by the weekend after next

Ive been very tight recently with money and therefore cant afford to do anything on my car. But i have sold my vw beetle so I now have money ANDDDDDDDDD after 11 weeks and re-designing the top camber plates for my coilovers twice the coilovers are on!
I'll get photos up when I get some time

Re: Mr Blobby's Progress Thread
Rightttttttt, well i have taken the gearbox out because it was making whining noises when I was driving so I think a bearing has gone, the box is being looked at today and tomorrow and should only cost £300 ish if thats it and be back in the car by wednesday evening.
And I have had the engine light on so I plugged my friends computer into the car and it said "Error, Internal control module. P1640" Does anyone know what this means? I think its to do with the ECU which is annoying!
But here are some pics of how it sits at the moment on my new coilovers
