James's Polo 9N - 16v Sport
Just thought I'd join up and show you guys my Polo. I bought it in May to replace my first car (a classic mini) as I needed something a bit more practical (i.e. 5 doors, reliable, comfortable, etc.). Decided to get the 1.4 16v as it's the quickest petrol engine they do in the 9n (other than the GTi in the 9n2 but that was out of budget) and I'm not a diesel fan. Managed to pick up this late 2003 example with only 42k for under £4k, especially since insurance ins't too bad on it as I'm 18! Haven't done any mods and don't plan to for the foreseeable future, although I might fit cruise control or perhaps put Montreal 2's on. I've now brought the mileage up to 50k and I'm really pleased with the car so far, very reliable other than a faulty engine temp sensor which needed replacing. Quick enough as well - I think 0-60 is 10.6 secs although the economy isn't great (this may be partly due to the way I drive though!) as I've been getting around 25-30 mpg in town, around 30-35 on a mixed run and about 40 on the motorway (at 80). Anyway enough waffle, hope you enjoy looking at the pics and I'll get some more up soon - tell me what you think of or if there are any mods you reckon I should do - James

There's a part number on the rear of the centre caps anyway. Was taking my wheels off earlier and saw it - I've got the same wheels on my car.

Well I've finally decided Montreals 2s are what I want so I've picked some up and will fit them next weekend. Pictures to follow. Anyone after some Melbournes?
