Hi there everyone i have just found these on ebay for those of you that don't have them already.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 1660wt_939

i suggest you grab them quick as they don't come up very often and if you read the description it says to contact them for group discounts,

cheers

Won't you have to cut out some of the plastic to allow air to the intercooler? Vaglink have some with the plastic cut out for you but they're $150.

I just bought and installed a pair of this exact guy! Proper seller, insane quick shipping :D

He told me it doesnt bother with no holes, you get plenty of air through the main one.. Dunno if it's right tho.

( Also, to install the middle one, do u just yank it really hard? :) )

thats good news hopefully i won't have to wait that long for them as for the middle grill just give it a really good pull and it will come out :)

Yep, the GTi specific ones have a cut out to allow air to reach the SMIC, so if you buy the ones without this hole, then you really should cut it out yourself. Obviously though, this isn't really a problem with a FMIC.
I've just bought a set of the GTi ones off Vaglink, its about £90 with free shipping but Customs apparently want another £30 in tax before they release them to me  . Be warned lol.

I agree i would not like to chance fitting the grills with no holes i think when vw themselves leave holes in the fog light grill it must serve a purpose imo. though i refused to pay the extra money for the gti grills just for a few extra holes when i had the standard smic i was just going to get a dremil tool and make the holes myself and was going to to it to both fog grills to make them look symmetrical.

blazeguarder soz to hear that, you got a bit of a bum deal there mate this country and tax is a joke :x

I replaced mine now..

Jezuz, that was a hard yank!

Looks awesome, worth it! The only thing I don't like is that the right grille doest fit that well. It comes out quite easy, so punch it in hard ;)

Mine finally arrived today, but I'm not liking how hard it sounds to get the centre grill off... Is it just a case of giving it a massive yank or is there some special trick to getting the centre grill off?

Honestly, I thought the same. I was really afraid to hurt my little darling ;)

You need some gloves and then pull with all your force. It will most certainly break, so you should have some pliers to get the rest out. Mine broke so all the parts where the grille is connected to the car was left on it. Took me about 5min to get it all out, when I finally dared to pull that hard xD

There are 5 clips at the top, 2 on either side and 3/4 at the bottom

I opted to remove bumper as I didnt want to break anything
