Pressed Plates

Post by gregperkins »

Hi guys,

I've noticed alot of you have pressed plates on your cars?

I am 18 in 2 weeks, and would like some as a present..but are they definitely road legal? It's all to do with the reflectiveness isnt it?

Has anyone been pulled for having them?

Any help would be appreciated :)

Cheers,

Greg 8)

Got mine from dubmeister, fully road legal apparently. They have/need the postcode of where they were produced, and have a British standards number on them.

You need to show your V5 and driving leicence to get them, just like a standard plate.

Oh and never been pulled. 8)

Had a set of dubmeister road legal pressed plates on my MK4 Polo. They looked the biz and I was very happy, never got pulled for them either. To be road legal they need to be reflective, correct font and spacing and stamped where they were made.

I'm after a set for the MK2 golf but haven't had the V5 through yet, you need to email them a copy of your licence (with your address etc) and a copy of the V5. I just scanned mine so still have a copy of the licence, just need the V5 scan.

Heads up if you find any group buys as i'll be in

Thanks for the info mate :)

Think im going to wait a year until i get the GTI to get a set of pressed plates. Only got my car another year so not really much point now. I got a new set of VW plates when i got the car anyway, so they're in perfect condition :)
