it can be a bit noisy, but a sub-woofer can easily drown it out but its not that bad to be honest. sluggish - well it is a 1.4 after all, but for what it is i've beaten a few cars off the mark and and i haven't done anything to the standard 75bhp engine. you just have to let the engine warm up a bit first though (about 10ish mins, maybe a bit more if its cold), then it kicks a bit more. economy is great as well, 50mpg average wherever i go

Thats way too much money for a 1.4tdi even if it is a 55 plate. I got my 2002 1.9TDi sport with 65k on it for £3900 which is about right. I could understand a low mileage one being around that price but for a car with over 100k its rediculous

No way is one with 110k+ worth more than £4k....
What trim is it? I think it's overpriced by at least a grand.
With regards to MPG, I did about 150 miles today in mine at 80 MPH for most of the way and averaged 53.8 MPG. They're a bit sluggish as standard, but are pretty nippy when remapped.

a couple of TWIST models on autotrader for 3.8k with less than 100k. I must say they seem to hold their value!

I'm surprised as well. Was toying with the idea of trading up but didn't realise they held their value that well. 3.5 years and 20k miles later and I seem to have lost about a grand!
