Ive got a 1.0e w reg and want a big bore backbox , ive found some cheap universal ones on ebay, but does anyone know if alot of modification is needed to bumper and do these universal ones fit on my car? also can i fit it myself or is welding needed

a lot of the universal exhausts ive seen need welding.
dont know if thats of any help????

as it is sold as universal, i would guess that it needs work to make it fit to any car. im sure you can now get mk5 specific exhaust backboxes?
anyone else got one on here? the toher option is to go to a custom exhaust place (powerflow etc)and get them to make you just a backbox

powerflow offer a backbox to a whole system.
go 4 the system if u can!
and u can choose ANY tailpipe u want!

Ive got a Rage backbox on mine, It sounds sweet as fcuk. It did need adapted to fit and the bumper needed cut (slightly). Looks good though.

Everyone i know who has got themselves a PowerFlow Exhaust has been mighty pleased, and there always custom made to fit you car exactly.

did you pay 150 for the whole system, catback?
I managed to get a catback system, with a 4.5" tailpipe. it isn't a jap box, so i guess it isn't as loud as the rage cans.

I got my back box for £80 from the Cash & Carry and then paid the garage £25 to fit it.
Its is quite loud when you drive it hard (on private roads) But driving normal it actually isnt that bad.

150 must b a back box. i got qutoed 400 for a 5" single, cat back.
