APR stage 1. Insurance and taxes??

Post by Joz »

Ok, so It's basically something I just want to know.

In Norway, If I should make my GTi stage one, I would seriously have to pay 7.000£ ish in tax and double ( just guessing.. But it is something like that) my insurance. If not, I would get bad trouble if someone figured it is remapped.

How is this in the UK?

Do you have to do anything when remapping? Is it actually illegal?

Thanks in advance for the replies.

Edit; I looked it up now. If you get 30 more bhp, they can make you pay as much as 9.000£ !!!
Which means, 60 more bhp is prob more like 12.000£. Freaking ridiculous!

What 12,000 GBP taxes for extra BHP?

In the UK it's simple, get the remap and tell your insurance company, they'll increase the premium accordingly (It's £80 extra on my TDi). Then it's legal.

Or you could choose not to tell them. Would they ever find out? Probably not.

I HATE my country!

Yes, 12.000GBP, or 120.000NOK if you prefer. 10 Kr is 1£

Edit; Look here, http://translate.google.com/translate?j ... ml&act=url

Very rubbish translation, and you also haev to divide the ammounts they are talking about by 10, because google translation did not :P
