A banjo fitting is basically a banjo shaped fitting at the end of a tube where the circular bit has a hole in it. A hollow bolt with holes in it to allow fluid to pass through it is fitted into this hole. Basically means that the join can be rotated without compromising fluid flow.
And I have no idea what the GTI is either! Seem to remember reading somewhere that the 9n3 uses banjo fittings but I can't find it again to confirm...
