Changing headlight to projector style?

Post by Joz »

Have anyone changed the headlights to HID projector headlights?

Got a guide for me? :)

I really want HID's, but need a guide to changing the projectors first, so I know I'll get it right. :D

Hi there,
I got a pair of angel eyes which has a projector within the headlight and also comes with a H.I.D kit.

If interested let me know :)

Heres some pics of them on my car and how they look on their own.

Fully legal as they have always passed m.o.t with out any issues and there's quite a few guys on this forum with them

Drop the front bumper

I followed the Forge intercooler fitting instructions to fit my angels:

I never used axel stands, that guide is for the intercooler removal and replacement

Its on a general guide of how to drop the bumper, not everything it tells you to do is nessesary mate :)

to get the headlights out i had to remove the grills from the bumper, remove the bumper and then take headlight out!
took me an hour and a half to get it off! far too much effort!
not a fan of angel headlights though bit chavvy!
had them on my old clio and suited well but don't think they suit newer cars

Meh, a lot work indeed! And cost a bit too!

I think I'll put this "DIY" mod on hold for a while, thanks for all the kind answers :)

Its only 'chavvy' on 'chavvy cars'..... The 9n3 is very 'unchavvy'...... Go for it Joz...

There's a car (think it was monks?) that had the standard lights modified to take projectors. Looked like the headlamps needed splitting to do it though.

It won Polo of the Month a while back, should still be there somewhere...

I don't find it chavy, I like it!

But the work and the price is a bit too much for me atm.
