Milltek for GTI. Cat or Turbo? Some Q's

Post by Joz »

Hey!

I've looked at some GTi's with Milltek, and it sounds sooo sweet! However, I do have some questions;

1. How much power will I gain from it?
2. Is it a BIG difference between Turbo Back and Cat Back? Thinking preformance wise and soundwise. If so, what are the difference(s) ?
3. What will happen to the fuel economy?
4. In Norway a full Milltek, mounted on the car, cost 1500£. A cat-back, mounted on the car, is 800£. What's the price oversea? ( I mean in the UK.. -_-)

Thanks in advance for the replies! :D ( And yes, I did try search. Not much luck.)

your best of just getting the whole system in one mate for the power gains and the sound will be ever better with the down pipe :) make sure its decatted though :D be loud and proud
only thing im not sure is if you decat it you have to map it ( i only say this because my cousin had to do this with his impreza...)

You do see gains from a CAT back system but they won't be massively noticeable but you can still tell it's there. For a Cat back your about £315 and for the full system your about £800.

Smooth. Do you think it's doable in like a weekend in a shop ? I'm thinking of travelling to UK with my car, to get some stuff done on it, as its super expensive here -_-

An exhaust could be fitted in a couple of hours tops. Going rate for labour in the UK is probably around £40 an hour (or it is in the NE scotland where I am)

I really do want the turbo back!

Saving up for it now, and then I'll drive to another country to fit it, so much cheaper! :P

I'll prob get it done within 10months or so, at least I want it on the car next summer!
