AirBag warning light and IN O2 message

Post by k6chris »

I have just replaced the wiper stalk which involvede carefully removing the airbag. I followed the instructions in the Haynes manual to the letter. On starting the Polo up the Airback warning light stays on and I get the message 'IN O2' for about 3 seconds on the milegae display. What have I done wrong and how do I fix it???

Thanks (again)

Youll need to reset the airbag fault using VAGCOM

As for IN 02. this means inspection service 02. Your car needs servicing!!

Thanks Alex, yes, figured both out. I bought a £7.00 cable from EBAY which provides some 'VAGCOM lite' functions, including resetting the warning light....all is well now. Many thanks for reply.
