needing to know what size of plate could fit into the plate recess of the jap spec version bumpers ?

You can get import sized plates from websites/shops mate. Take a look on Demon Plates or somewhere like that and you'll find the measurements.

rough measurements:

WIDTH - 36 cm/14 inches

HEIGHT - 16 cm/6.5 inches
