Either 1.4 Petrol or Tdi please.
We're in surrey, so close by would be handy.
Ideally not intergalactic mileages.

really want a straight, fairly original car with history.

is insurance fairly cheap too?

I know all things are relative, but sometimes a diesel is as cheap as chips - until it gets around that it goes like a rocket & the insurance companies up their premiums...

Ha ha too true insurance on these doesn't seem to be too bad I'm 23 with 2 years no claims declared a 1.4 8v petrol and it's coming in at £450, the GTI however is cheaper for me to Insure probably to to the upgraded security so I imagine the TDI would be even cheaper

Plus with a remap the TDI can be quicker than GTI.
