Rolling Road Question?
I had my GTI booked in for a run on a dyno today but when i got there i was told they can't run it as it's a DSG. (wish they'd told me earlier would have saved a 30 mile round trip)
Anybody know why and where i can get it done?

Re: Rolling Road Question?
I have never heard anything like this what a bunch of idiots, sounds like they should not be in this business, who was it so we know to avoid? Are you going to get it running sweeter or just to see what the output is prior to a remap?big_amir wrote:I had my GTI booked in for a run on a dyno today but when i got there i was told they can't run it as it's a DSG. Re: Rolling Road Question?
I've got my Golf 6 GTI and my Polo GTI on the dyno already, any dyno can run a DSG..

I have a MK6 GTI DSG and Polo 6R GTI too, what were the dyno results for yours as a matter of interest?wildcars wrote:I've got my Golf 6 GTI and my Polo GTI on the dyno already, any dyno can run a DSG..

Re: Rolling Road Question?
Thanks for your comments guys. I've have had a quick chat with amd technik in Essex. I might take it down there for a run.
Rolling Road Question?
Quattro/4motion can cause dyne issues (pull the fuse and run it 2wd - problem solved!) but not DSG. That's like saying you can only run an automatic but not a manual, or vice versa...
Rolling Road Question?
Interesting figures for the polo when, according to Vw, the 7spd dsg can't handle any more than 250Nm.... :)wildcars wrote:Polo GTI - standard - 136kw 263nm

Re: Rolling Road Question?
It does depend how optimistic the rollers are setup. Some can see 20-30bhp over true figures on most runs
Re: Rolling Road Question?
The Golf GTI is a wet clutch, it can def handle more than 550nm..gavs wrote:Interesting figures for the polo when, according to Vw, the 7spd dsg can't handle any more than 250Nm.... :)wildcars wrote:Polo GTI - standard - 136kw 263nm

The Polo GTI is a dry clutch, it can handle max 400nm..
This has been proven already, over here, my tuner STO, has already done phase 3 on the PGTI, and it has done 182kw & 360nm..

Re: Rolling Road Question?
550nm is pushing it on a wet clutch DSG considering the VW rating is around 350nm, and yes I know the Revo DSG map will allow it 500+ but you really should uprate the clutch plates and retainers to support this level of torque.
They arent as tough as people make out - A friend of mine has destroyed two running a Stage 2+ map on an ed 30 with the diff shearing off and ending up through the bell hosuing.

Hence why I said, according to Vw.....wildcars wrote: The Golf GTI is a wet clutch, it can def handle more than 550nm..
