Hi Andrew

Sorry can't help with regards to changing the screen colour on the RCD-510, and a bit off topic but I just wanted to ask if you had to do any coding for the install of the bluetooth module itself or was it just plug and play in the end. I'm thinking of doing this mod myself when my car arrives but I don't have the capability or confidence to start doing any recoding. Thanks.

Just activating [77] Telephone in the Can gateway was all I had to do.

DRL doesn't bother me, no one has pulled out in front of me as yet so they must be doing the job :D My old ED30 had a feature that when driving above 90 mph the headlights came on automatically and stayed on so my lights were always on  therefore no change.

Hi Andrew,

you say you fitted the bluetooth kit easily, did you fit it under the seat or under the 510 unit?

I am due to take delivery of a bluemotion in August and will have to fit the same unit myself (it's coming witha RCD 510 already) hence my intrest.

Also I have a Ross-Tech lead for my T5 2005 Shuttle, will this fit on the new polo or is it a micro-fit?

And another also, what settings did you need to change once the the bluetooth was fitted?

Thanks

nige.

My 510 unit has the phone button but no phone kit? What would be required in order to set this up?

Thanks, Darren

Do all new Polo's have rear lights as well as the fronts for drl's? (my SEL has) I was told by vw that this is a polo only thing. Has anyone checked if there rear lights are on all the time? (different to the rest of the vw range). :? Thanks

I don't have Xenons. I do have DLRs in the front skirt next to the fogs and NO rear lights on with DRLs...

Im confused now as to why VW have told me all Polo's have the rears on all the time. They said the computer wasnt capable of separating front and rears on the polo.

I believe that the cars equipped with the Xenon lights with LED DRls don't run the tail lights when teh DRLs are on becuae of the software for the Xenoon headlight being different, hence why the coding can be changed. The polos with just the halogen lights run both front and rear DRLs, well at least here they do...

That's likely the answer. Mine is a Swiss LHD model made in Pamplona Spain. It is likely a different spec than the UK - but even so do VW really change that much for different markets??

Probably have generic LHD European models and then RHD UK models? As yours is set up like the UK BlueMotion DRL set up they also might not have rears on as well in the UK, not followed a BM so not sure?
