Rear wheel bearings 6n mk4

Hi can you please help me i need to change the rear wheel bearings on my polo but im a bit confused as some motor factors tell me that i need to replace the complete hub and some tell me just the bearings thanks in advanced steveo430

From what i understand its only the 6n2's and the ones produced later on in 2001 that you need to replace the entire hub.

Is it discs or drums youve got on the back mate?

Your best bet is just to take everything down to the stub axle and have a look. Thats the only thing i can possibly suggest!

I have a wheel bearing issue, went and got one from gmf, they just gave me a normal taper bearing, paid £6. When coming to replace the bearing, stripped it down to the stub axle, realised the bearing wouldnt fit and in fact i needed to replace the entire hub. So all of a sudden jumped from £6 - £79.80 needless to say i wasnt a happy chappy

Hi thanks for that its got drums on the back i know what you mean about the price it s £45 per hub or £10 per bearing thanks for your reply
