New brakes- Fronts or rears first?
Aright guys. As the title suggests, looking to change my brakes to 312mm at the front and 256mm vented at the back and I can't afford to do them at the same time so , which ones should I do first, as I got to sets lined up to to buy! Cheers, Will

Front definately.
Its something stupid like 80 or 90% of the braking power comes from the front wheels, so its more benefical doing fronts first.

I'd be inclined to say fronts, otherwise you'll affect the brake bias and the car could spin. Cars are built with bias towards the front for safety reasons.
Couldn't you just buy the parts and not fit them until you have everything though?
EDIT: beaten to it by BennoGTi!

Usually 70% front 30% rear on a front wheel drive car.BennoGTi wrote:Front definately.

Do the fronts, backs wont make an awful lot of difference except it may add stability

You may need new hubs mate ive looked into bigger brake set up as just recently fitted new EBC's, as the 1.6 models didnt have bigger hubs like the gti's im not sure about the 1.9tdi though but worth a check if you need to get the gti front hubs first!
before you go and get everything and wonder why its not fitting.
