Which tyres do you recommend for a 9n3 GTI?
Hello, I've had my polo 9n3 GTI 6 months now and I'm not happy with the Pirelli pzero neros on the fronts.
I couldn't see a thread discussing this so I'd be really interested to see what other people would recommend. My driving is mainly country road commuting with motorways at the weekend.
My best mate has a Golf GT with Michelin Pilot Sport 3's on them that he swears are mint so I'm thinking about trying them. I've also had Bridgestones on my last car (Civic 1.6 sport) that were great.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Isaac

I recommend Toyo T1rs also or even the PX4s,
A good all round tyre, really good in the dry and good grip in the wet.
I am currently trying Yokohama parada spec2s. Absolutely brilliant in the dry but terrifying in the wet so next time I'm due a change I'll be sticking to Toyo T1rs.

Cheers for all the advice. I'll definitely see if I can find the Toyo T1R as a few people have recommended them now.
I not a boy racer (I'm 39) but I've found the pirelli are very snatchy when cornering quickly and I'm getting the ESP light on far too much as the grip comes and go.
I'll let you know what I get and how I get on with them.
Ta,
Isaac

Cheapest website i can find for tyres is camskill.co.uk
Almost 15 quid a corner cheaper than any quote from local tyre places. however you have to factor in fitting cost which is included in a tyre bays price...

Camskill is definitely the cheapest but as Chris said fitting cost have to be added.
Black circle can organise delivery to a local garage with a reduced fitting price, you could have a look at that.

Re: Which tyres do you recommend for a 9n3 GTI?
Had the pilot sport 3's fitted on Saturday.
Bit expensive but worth every penny. Absolutely fantastic tyres. Transformed the ride and handling from the pirelli pzero neros that were on before.
Cheers,
Isaac

going back to this comment...
ive just come back from a 3000 mile road trip on the pirelli p zero nero and i cant fault them!
did the mountain passes of the alps and 2 laps of the nurburgring and not one sign of blistering! and still loads of tread left considering how much i hammered it!
well recommended!!
