tips on removing the glass transponder chip

Hi all i will shortly need to remove the transponder glass chip from a standard key and to put it in a new flip key which i have already programmed to open and close the doors. i know where it is and where it will fit on new flip key.

I need some tips on how to remove it from the old vw standard key

Open the key and use a small amount of acid called acetone over the transponder (it breaks down bonding substances) it's ok on bare skin just don't get it anywhere near your eyes.

Thinking about it there are high concentrates of acetone in nail polish remover :D

Knew being a geek would pay off one day 8)

had to chop away at the key until i had more than 60% exposed, i used the nail varnish remover which helped TA!
