Main engine seal

My 1.4 had to go back to VW last week with an oil leak, they found that it was because the main engine seal had not been fitted correctly at manufacture. VW say there is nothing to worry about from now on, but is there anything to be aware of from now on? Could it have caused a problem that will show in the future?

Unless it lost all it's oil, then no, not likely.
