Air con function?

Hi, Newbie here so hello all and here my first post..

Just a quick question on the functioning of the Air con. Can't make my mind up if mines working ok, or just working differently to what was in my 9N1 polo.

All the dials are identical to the layout in my old Polo, however seem to operate slightly differently. If I move the dial on the right to 12 o'clock position (screen only) Air Con button illuminates automatically.. I don't know if that's how it supposed to work on new Polo or it's playing silly bug gers... It might be it's just coming on as a dehumidifier and is normal function.

Also when I do turn on Aircon via button, Air recycle botton come on at same time..

I'll post some pics of my TSi baby.. once I've worked out how to do it..

I have the STD air con (not climate) on my Polo GTI and it does not function the same as that. The cooling will only come on when turned on via the button and the air recirculating will only come on via the button. Mine is MY11, is yours newer?

Yeah mines just std Aircon. Not sure, how can I check build date, picked car up in April. I assume MY11 is May 2011, that would make mine older.

I wasn't sure if it was mis-behaving or not, all the buttons and dials are same as old 9n1 Polo (just jazzed up for new model) so I assumed it would work in a similar way. But as I say if I turn dial on the right to the screen setting A/C button illuminates. Also if I turn on A/C via button, recycle button lights after a second or two.

Looks like I'll have to pop it back to have it checked over. Or give em a ring.

My aircon light comes on (along with the aircon!) if I turn the dial to windscreen ie 12 o'clock position, just like yours does. Also did the same in my old Focus so thought this was pretty standard for demisting windscreen.

Recirculation light doesn't come on automatically when I turn aircon on with button.

I had a nearly new polo a couple of weeks ago as a courtesy car and that functioned exactly as you described, mine functions like Carols does, the difference between mine and the courtesy car was mine has Climatic air conditioning (not climate control) and the other had plain air conditioning.

Thanks peeps I appreciate you posting up..

I thought it may be a "quirk" of how system functions. It sort of makes sense for aircon to switch on when clearing the screen for de-misting, because it'll de-humidify the air. I recon it's situation normal, car is brighter than I am..

I'll double check the fuctioning of ther recirculation light just in case I hit both buttons accidentally..

No worries mate, appreciate you having a look anyway. GTi was beyond me, so I'm a bit jealous. Tsi is sprightly enough, I'd imagine GTi is a rocket ship...

I have an 11 plate GTI, when switched to windscreen my aircon also switches on auto. Recirc stays off though. My mates 11 plate scirocco does the same also.
