1st mod - SuperPro lower engine mount

Post by Hurdy »

Popped in to Awesome GTI today and bought my very first mod for when the Polo GTI arrives....

A SuperPro polyurethane bush kit to replace the OEM lower engine mount. The OEM mount isn't very stable and as a result the engine moves quite a bit. As one of my future mods will be a Full Miltek Turbo-back exhaust, the last thing I want is too much movement in the lower part of the engine and this little beauty should do the trick nicely. It also has the advantage of making the drivetrain take-up quicker and reduction of engine movement will give a better feel to the car on both road and track. SuperPro sell two types which would suit the GTI - SPF2907-70K and SPF2907-80K the 70k version is for fast road use and the 80K is the slightly harder "Race" version - which I opted for. 8)

SOmeone here had theirs in for 3 weeks and pulled it back out! :) Either they're soft or these are much harder than what I used to have in the golf, which in turn, did soften up a bit after about 2 years:)

I have one, you can feel the difference, car is much smoother on take off, only problem I find is it has slight vibration when your on the brake on tick-over now, but I can live with it
