LED LIGHTS ADVICE

Post by DF:FD »

Hi Guys,

My g.f just got a brand new polo 1.4 i think SEL in white (need to upload pix)

Now i own the shape before from the polo series and i got all led bulbs (numberplate, interior lights, sidelights) inside my car and for her i recently got the sidelights changed to white led's to match the white carn :D

But i was wondering could anyone give me the link from hids4u.co.uk for the numberplate lights as she really wants them, also for the daylight running lights, i havent looked but she said that the lights are a different light to the main beam lights is this true, or are the main beams on all the time. i havent really looked so i dont know

But if anyone could give me the links for and leds that go in the car would be so greatful!

Sidelights are still the standard 501 wedge type bulbs mate. Dipped beam is constantly on acting as the DRLS. These are H7 bulbs. Also, the High beams are H7 also.

But just remember these cars are running canbus so all led bulbs need to be of canbus type.

As for the numberplates, am not sure which ones you have, but i bought the complete lamp replacement from HIDS4U and they are absolutly awesome compared to those who just replace the standard bulb for an led festoon bulb. I bought these ones and they work a treat. http://www.hids4u.co.uk/vw-led-number-plate-light.html

See my progress thread, i think i put a pic of the back end of mine at night with them on, they much brighter than the bmws and mercs :D

Got mine from autobulbs pal. Think they where about 25 each bulb  lol Well worth it though. If i remember rightly, they are HB4 bubls in mine. If youve got 2 bulbs in each foggy, they could be different bud as ones for the corning lights. Or is a bluemotion yours bud? as they have DRLs in the foggys.

Ive had all the different colours of HIDS in my past 3 polos mate, and these 4800K (anti-glare) are by far the best ive ever had. They look sporty, but they also cast a nice bright white light onto the road. the 5000k / 6000k look more bluey but are no where near as bright at night. And you said your fogs seem to have 2 bulbs in each side? that would mean you have corning lights as our GTI's only have one bulb for normal fogs. The other half is blank unless you selected corning fogs matey.

I have cornering lights but only one bulb in each side, it uses the fog light for the cornering function. Is there definitely a second bulb in each side?

The cornering foggys should defo have 2 bulbs, thats why the fog light sits right on the edge of the bumper so it lights up the road your turning in to.

I went out to check my car before commenting before because i was unsure but there is definitely only one bulb, and my (individual) fog lights do come on with the indicators and at slow speeds when the lights are switched on. :? :? :?
