Don't worry about it, if you buy a new one Volkwagen, will already have a set fitted.... They come with loads of stuff like seats, wheels, doors, all sorts..

Re: Anyone fitted springs to new polo ?
Any one else with a proper answer ????
Re: Anyone fitted springs to new polo ?
I plan on fitting springs to my GTI within the next couple of weeks. Have been looking at the VW racing / H&R / Eibach. The polo 6R chassis is very similar to the older 9n3 chassis. That means, changing the springs on the back is easy, and the fronts a little harder, more time consuming. To get the front suspension legs out, you have to drop the driveshaft out of the hub to gain enough space to remove the suspension leg out of the hub. Hope thats a little more help for you buddy.

It is the same set up as the MK4 Golf, yes.
I have fitted H&R springs to my Polo, but I never did it myself, but I did do my Golf and to be honest I couldn't be arrsed to bother with the Polo as its only £100 to get em fitted at the garage !!! However, one of the original front shocks popped a seal, which resulted in a new shock and I now have a rattle, which nobody seems to be able to find and nothing appears to be loose !!!!
As for Wolfie's comment, I thought that was quite funny !!!!

Re: Anyone fitted springs to new polo ?
I wouldnt suppose your rattle is coming from the back off the car, preferbly the drivers side? Sounds like an intermittent knock? I havent lowered mine yet, but mines got a very annoying knock, am almost certain its suspension related but ive had everything out the back off mine to try find it, and the cars been in vw twice for it but still no luck. Its going back in on monday for two days for them to try sort itB1N9S wrote:It is the same set up as the MK4 Golf, yes.

Hi Mate
That is a pretty long way round getting the leg out. you shouldnt need to touch the hub nut or the driveshaft... Best way i found is loosen everything but leave the top mount nuts tight. use the hub seperator tool to loosen the leg from the hub then use a long bar and a rubber mallet push the hub underneath and off the leg. then just loosen the top mount nuts and the leg is free
That should save you a little more time.
