Roof bars?

Does anyone know if the 5 door VW roof bars for the 9n will fit a 3 door with some sort of fitting kit from Volkswagen? Surely the 5 door bars must be the same front as the 3 door but different back bars? Anyone help? Sorry if this dont make sense! Basicly can I fit a set of 5 door roof bars to a 3 door?
