H+R spring kit

I,m wanting to get the 35/55 kit for my GTi as the VW springs i have are a little tame for my eye. Has anyone fitted this kit, if so please post up a picture and your opinion of the ride quality. I run 36 offset TD pro 1.2,s that are 7.5" wide so i need to work out if i will have any rubbing issues. Thanks

i know it's not the same model but i have the H&R Cup KIT 60/40 kit on my Polo 6N2 GTI (mk V) and it is by far one of the best suspensions I have had on a car... Took the car arround the Nürburgring...Didn't over' or understeer, I felt everything and it was just a dream to drive with

One of the local boys fitted these springs on his GTI and the car now sits too low, it looks funny because the wheels are almost tucking into the guards and the diameter of the 17" wheel and tyre doesn't match the diameter of the wheel arch anymore.

My reccomendation (personal preference here) is that you're after looks, go for the 25/40mm springs instead. If you go the 35/55, look into 18" wheels

Hey Blaade, just check that the H&R springs tak into account the fact that the GTI is meant to be 15mm lower from teh factory, otherwise you might only be looking at a 10/15mm drop instead.... I guess some is better than none though

I have the H&R 35mm loweing springs sat on the floor in my room waiting to go on. Got them from awesome GTI. Apparently, these give a perfect stance, not to low and not to high. Hi guys...I'm new in here so be nice. I recently had installed on my gti what was previously listed as the H&R 25/40mm springs. I say that because H&R have now changed the spring ratings to Front: 20mm Rear: 30-35mm.

Don't be overly concerned about factoring in the already lowered 15mm height of the gti. I was unsure myself in the beginning which springs to select, but now that I've compared my car's height to Auspolo's, who like me, is also on Aussie vwwatercooled forums, and several other polos in Oz, I think they almost look identical. In some instances mine might even appear slightly lower than some polo TSIs with the same said springs.

In my opinion the 35/55 springs will be too low, especially if you plan to do some serious driving with undulating and sweeping corners. This is a car that really does handle nicely with these springs.

Anyway, here's a profile snap of my car so you guys judge the height for yourself. Cheers!!

Whats the story with the warranty when putting in these H&R springs, dont like the idea of it being void incase anything goes wrong. The springs would be a treat to have though!

Depends on your dealer i suppose. At worst they could only void claims on your suspension.

VW have to prove that if something failed on the vehicle they built it was directly attributed to the modification you have done, so if you go in for the oil consumption issue, they can't exactly say your new springs caused it, can they....

Mind you, if have a shock absorber explode and you lose control and kill 20 people, then then they can say that the springs caused that issue. Then, it is up to H&R for example to prove that it wasn't and that you installed them incorrectly blah blah blah, unless they of course have a discalimer but even then, most of these aren't even legal anyway.

In short, you're pretty safe:)
