The reverse lights arent working.
Bulbs are Ok as is the Fuse.
The next thing to check is the Reverse switch - Has anyone got a "good" picture/diagram of where I can find the switch please. Is it a 10 minute check/swap or a pain in the 'arris ?

Re: Polo 9N reverse light switch
you will need to get at it from underneath, i removed my bumper and jacked it up.. turned out it was the wires into the switch that had broke.. seemed as if vw designed them too short.
Re: Polo 9N reverse light switch
Note for you, when my lights went on the 9N It turned out to be faulty wiring between the gearbox switch and wherever that wire goes to. The wire and the plug on the end of the wire were perished and therefore I needed to go to a scrappy and chop a new plug with the wire hanging out off a 9N, Then splice it in on mine.
Hope this helps. Keep an eye on all the wiring near to the switch.

Likely to be a broken wire near the plug at the gearbox. A "repair" plug (with short lengths of wire) is available from the dealer for a couple of quid, then just solder it on. (or crimp if you're working outside!)
