EGR Delete?

I keep hearing about this mod being done but never known what the gains are from doing it ? And more to the point what is a EGR (valve?).

Exhaust gas recirculation valve.

Power gain= 0hp

Time to warm up = longer

Air= cooler

That's about it really.

Last year I could not put heaters on otherwise the engine would not run at 90 as it should.

it basically recurculates the exhaust gas from the engine into ur air manfold for emmisions purposes it is completly unneccesary apart from that. but as said ur not really gaining anything except it does prevent ur air manifold clogging up with a tarry carbon deposit which in the long run can decrease performance. i was considering doing it to mine but dont think il bother as mine has always been spotless when i remove the pipe and look into it.

Thanks would of thought it would at least have a small gain from the amount of people doing it.
