Jesus, that's what.... twice the original GTi's engine capacity? Heading into muscle-car territory there. (With mustangs and the like.... isnt the impreza wrx only 2.5 litre?)

I bet the mk1 would still whip it down a B-road too. Who'll be the first to set up a time trial between the 2? :D

off the topic, but I had to mention it Did the know the yellow taxi cabs in new york are all 4.2 litre V8s, 17 mpg in the new york traffic, can u believe that, they just seem so incredibly arrogant about fossil fuels over there. Though they are looking for more 'economic' ways now

seriously they could all be electrified couldnt they?
hell in that traffic you could probably stuff a Smart's engine in there and not tell the difference (though acceleration DOES seem to count for a lot... hybrid and low gears? :D)

super heavy bodies as well. same model that the interstate police use - because they can out-ram anything smaller than a F150 pickup!

Mmmmm F-150 pickup... although tbh I prefer the Dodge Ram SRT-10 with the Viper V10 under the hood  and you get them converted to rhd now - anyone got a spare £70k I can borrow..?

its 2l turbo - unless you get a US spec one, then is a 2.5 NA motor.

The R32/R36 is twice the power, but also twice the weight. so i'm guessing it would be a close battle :)

Eh, sorry to be a marque traitor, but I think i'll take the lighter, rally-proven car made by a company that specialises in 4WD!
Golf probably a whole lot nicer round town or on the motorway, but what can i say.. i'm a handling man :D

(plus the 2L will be a lot less thirsty when you're NOT caning it)

Glad you agree, as petsy says they've registered the name R36. The pics are just photoshopped and the interior is from the mk4 golf R32.

Yeh was thinking that too, heard they were making in a 3.6 ages ago. Doubt they would stay with the 3.2 because just look at what audi are doing.
