milltek catback

I've just ordered one, how difficult is it to change yourself? Ive changed a back box before on my old car, just wondering how much more difficult it is to do this?

You will need a trolly jack, axel stands and obviously various sockets,etc. Take of the rear valance as it makes it easier to access the rear of the exhaust. Unbolt the two bolts on the wrap around clamps holding the exhaust and the cat together, pull the two apart, take the exhaust off of the 3 grommet so the exhaust is just hanging on the subframe. Take off the back two wheels, and pull back the wheel arch line so you can drop the subframe once thats lower, you can snake the system out of the underbody of the car and just put the milltek on and reverse all the steps just mentions but bolt up the the exhaust and put it back on the grommets before you put the subframe back on! You will need to drop the rear axel to get the exhaust out in one piece. It may just be easier to cut it off using and air hacksaw. Saves a bit of time.

You won't have a problem fitting the miltek as it comes in 2 pieces so you can just snake it over the axel. (makes more sense when you see it)

If you want to put your standard exhaust on you can just get a joining sleeve.

I wouldn't cut it off just incase you want to keep it to put the car back to standard!

Yeah that true! Only reason why I am talking about preserving things for when putting it back to standard, is because I either sold loads of standard parts or damaged them when taking them off so having to spend a lot of cash putting it back to standard!

thanks for the advice, i will probably keep it incase i want to return it to standard, good idea incase i have trouble taking it off lol
