Fuel Ecomoney Problem in 1L

Post by poke360 »

Ive had the car year and a half and never really thought about it but I filled my tank up with 40 pounds worth of petrol from once the light came on. I tripped the computer and I got 250 miles out of it. My sister has the same engine in her arosa and is getting nearly 100 miles extra. I need help asap to fix this. Draining me out of my money. Thanks

I get that out of about 30 depends how you drive it mate, could need servicing or a fuel leak.

Its possible a problem with your lambda sensor, a fuel filter, air filter, or another problem

Best get it looked at.

I used to get 400+ out of my 1.0L

VW direct and not too hard

Best thing to do is have it properly looked at and diagnosed as a lambda sensor isn't a cheap part to just replace on a whim.

Not being cocky or anything but could it be down to the way you drive ?. Do you over rev a lot and run your gears to near red line before changing ? and nob it absolutely everywhere ?.

Like I have a 1.4 and I filled up on the first and still have a quarter of a tank and my car is used everyday bit I'm always in high gears barely drive over 35mph and am just one of those annoying people you get 'stuck' behind

never really over 3000 revs from a stand still and always but it into lower gears to keep it from idling high when cruising along.
