question once i removed my vw headunit is it a case of connecting the annetena leads and the iso blocks no need to earth or solder stuff???

its an alpine headunit for a mk5 polo

The arial lead should just plug into your new headunit. If using the standard speakers, you may need a wiring harness (available from Halfords) to connect up your standard speakers to the new headunit. The wiring harness will have the connector blocks that will join onto the connector blocks supplied with the stereo, and will then join to the connector blocks from your speakers (if there is a difference in compatibility). I hope that bit with connector blocks made sense.

you will need the wiring block from halfords as the permenant live and ignition live are the wrong way around on the vw compared to ISO.
