Quick question about the airbox on the GT...

Post by retro »

Hi,

Does anybody happen to know how many clips ther should be on the GT airbox? Mine only has three, I think it's missing one from the rear right corner (looking in from the front of the car), but it's hard to tell if there was ever a clip ther or not.

Cheers!

Thanks everyone.

That's one more thing to add to the list of annoying little faults then. Don't suppose I'ts doing much harm, I'll add it to the list of things I should get round to sorting. Is the GT box the same as the one on an SPI 1.3?

Gareth - Yeah, that's the one. It looks like it would be really awkward to do, thats why I thought that maybe it should only have three.

Pettsy - Does the drilled airbox make any noticeable difference? I'm not really planning any mods, but might be tempted to try that. Do you run a foam filter too? I'd happily accept a bit more inducton noise if it meant a little more throttle response or low down grunt.

The GT airbox is different to the 1.3 spi box (or so I think...) The 1.3 spi (as found in my CL) is a round enclosure, while I think the GT one is rectangular.

The airbox is completely differnent on the spi 1.3. You need either a GT airbox or very very early H reg polo 1.3 CL which also has a mpi engine but with less power.[/list]
