VW Offering LED DRL Retrofit

went to my local dealer (wigan ) on Saturday to book in my first service ,i took along some pages from polodriver .com regarding the leds ,pictures and details,etc.service manager did"nt know nothing about them,he took the pages from me and went to the parts dept.they had"nt a clue,i said what if i get them my self how much to fit them,he would"nt entertain them,not until they get the know all from vw themselfs.they need the programm codes to alter,etc. i may go down to bolton vw ask them.

been down to 2 other dealers this morning regarding these leds,
1 st garge in bolton,did"nt know nothing about them but took some details and he said he will get back to me on monday ,i also told him that i could get the lights from germany ,and to get me a quote for them to fit them.(he said he would )

2nd garage in bury didn't have a clue either but had heard some thing regarding the golf.a service chap overheard my conversation with the parts department he said they would be next year as this is when the daytime lights law comes into affect.i said i could get them would they fit them,but they seemed adiment of the wiring +fitmnt .

see what happens monday.

got reply back from bolton vw.told me they had spoken to vw and they have said it will probably be the beginning of next year when they get the leds as they are being fitted now to German market vw"s.could not give me a price for them to fit them they are not sure of wiring and programming (think they are scared). just have to wait, did not ask about above part number,will ask when i take car in on thursday for service.

have now received instructions for fitting leds from vw garage in germany,(wiring diagram, fitting leds )the above part number is right.but when i enquired at vw wigan ,did-not know the number.so i will see know if any garage is temped to fit these leds.

Ooooh, that's good mate. I hope they are tempted to fit them but I have an incling they won't go anywhere near them until they're launched fully

just noticed on instructions for leds. website address,www.ms-design.com just been on some nice leds ,spolier kits ,skirts,etc, you will need google translate.but some nice stuff on there anybody interested.

been down to vw wigan and vw bury today regarding these leds, having now got the full instructions from vw garage in germany on fitting them ,neither garage is temped to fit them until they come available in the uk,they both say when they come available you will get the vw guarantee,would rather wait till they come over here.also if any problems fitting them ,vw uk would not interested in any mistakes.

so now its just a waiting game for when they come over here.

Thanks for keeping me posted mate, I can't wait till they come out. At least it'll give us time to save up for them, as i'm guessing they will be around the £300 mark including fitting
