Oil light and Beep?

Just managed to fix the secondary air injection fault i had which turned out to be a split hose running to the combi-valve! simple fix then took the car out for a drive and i got a loud beep and oil light flash.

Pulled over straight away.. level was fine and engine sounded perfect....
Ive read about it on the older versions of the 1.8t being a problem... with sludge problems and the oil intake from sump becomming blocked..


Just wanted to know has anyone had this on there 9n gti?... what did it turn out to be?

Getting so frustrated with this car , love it! but seems all the faults have come at once... including uneven pull which i put down to maf or dv!

Any ideas people? Also what oil are you guys using anything special? synthetic or normal?

Uneven pull, or "pulsing" can be several things. I had it just some weeks ago.

Had to change MAF and fill oil+ change the fuelpump or some like that
Cant recall what it was called exacly.

Was expensive though.. Also, I had a leak in an oil hose that made my enigne bay slightly messy, but not on the top, underneath. Look for that too.


I can recall posting the name on the exact fuel thingy in here, so if you really need it, look through my posts and you will find it

Yeah the pulsing is not my biggest worry as i read your post before about the maf sensor etc! cheers for that!


Just the oil light that is worrying me!... i reckon the oil intake in sump is blocked causing low pressure and oil starvation its getting the checked tommorow hopefully i have done no damage~!

Ah, ok then.

Cant really say anything about that.. But try to stay out of the turbo rpm's
