K&N 57i Induction Kit

Post by AJ_7 »

Hi guys, just after some opinions on the K&N 57i Induction Kit.

I drive a 1.2 TSI and although i'm not after a performance increase as such, I'm after a improved engine note, specially in the higher revs. Sometimes at lower revs the engine can sound a bit raspy. I read the VW watercooled forums and motor-talk.de forums and a lot of members seem to have this fitted to their 77TSI's. Basically i'm just seeking opinions on whether it'd be a good purchase or whether it would be a waste of money.

Cheers in advance :)

I really like the note the k&n kits give and they help with engine breathing, go for it. Always a nice touch and if you get bored or don't like it you can always sell it on mate.... Go for it!

HEAT SOAK! not a fan of them to be honest mate on a hot the day the car will drive worse than standard why not a bmc cda and put a cold air feed to it it wont be as loud as an open cone induction kit but youll get a better drive even if it is minimal!

Soundwise I'd be tempted to go for an aftermarket cat-back exhaust. Should give you a decent sound.

Thanks for the advice guys. I've looked on the net for cat-back exhausts and there's only Supersprint which seem to make one for the 1.2 TSI :x ABT have one also, but i'd rather not part with £1k :)

the same system is $2500 here in australia (that's 1875 euro/1625 quid) excluding labour...now that's scandalous!

supersprint looks like better value at ~400 quid unless milltek come to the party and release a 1.2 TSI version
