Flipkey coding problems

Hi I recently bought myself a flipkey to upgrade my normal key for the GTI but I cannot seem to get the central locking to code also can't get the key to code in? I'm using a transponder chip from an old 98 reg 6n and a three button fob on a 6n2 GTI tried coding key with VAG 5051 but no luck!

Any pointers on where I'm going wrong?

Transponders could be different maybe? Just at a guess, your best bet would be to try and get the transponder from a 6n2 did the 3 button fob not have one in it?
