Double din fascia plate & arm rest

Post by radpolo »

Hey all

new to the forum as i've just ordered a new Polo Match, nice place you got here!

I'm after some advice...

Does anyone make a double din facia plate so i can change the standard stereo?

Also whats the best armrest to go for?

Many thanks in advance for your help!

Hi mate,

Welcome to the forums. I've no idea what a double din fascia plate is so I can't help you on that one  The best armrest to go for would definatley be the one VW offer as an optional extra on the Match. Not sure on how much it is, but it's definatley worth it.

What specs have you gone for? Colour etc?

hi aj

its from vw stock and hasnt got an armrest unforunately, aparently putting a retro fit og one is hugely expensive? So, i've been looking at Armster armrests instead.

I've gone for the 1.2tdi match 3dr in white, but will be putting polished rimed black 17" alloys on it (from my Golf).

The double din fascia plate is so i can run a standard double-din head unit in the dash. can't seem to find anything online?

Thanks again!

I don't think it's expensive to retrofit, can't remember where i've seen it but in my head I have £130. I'll try to find where I saw it and keep you posted.

1.2 TDI in CW sounds sweet, i've got a CW 1.2 TSI 8) Will look sweet with the black rims mate!

i think its £130 to have as an option on a new one, but I don't know how much on the retrofit - will call a dealer tomorrow.

Thanks for your response :)

Hi there,

I got an arm rest from VW as an option when I got the car and I would definitely recommend! It sits quite low and on the way of the handbrake, at first I didn't really like it but after I got used to it was no problem... When all the way down it sits on a perfect height for me, really comfortable driving position for someone on the road as much as I am... As for the storage space, it is small but mighty :)

Best of luck with your new Polo!! Post pics when you can!

Found this Double Din fitting kit:

Should do the trick...I'll update when it arrives.
