Dump Valves?!
Dump Valves?!
Hello!!
What dump valves are all you 9n3 Turbo peeps running?
Been looking at a few, anybody running the Forge Splitter?
Has anyone had any engine management lights thrown up due to dump valve?
Ta!! Andy.

I believe the split-r should be ok afriend of mine runs it on his TT and although it is a blowoff valve it's also recirc too. Sounds nice too
Re: Dump Valves?!
I had the Split-R on mine for a while, had no problems with any engine management lights at all, there just a pain in the arse to set up properly
I now have a 007p, working great, well recomended

Re: Dump Valves?!
Am i right in saying the Forge 007p is just a direct replacement for the standard Bosch, no blow off etc?

Re: Dump Valves?!
This is a silly question probably but i dont know alot about dump valves...
Does anyones dump valve flutter instead of just 'dumping' the exhaust gasses? Annnnnnd if not how can that noise be done?
Sorry for silly question...

Re: Dump Valves?!
It does back into the intake, you need a high flowing intake to hear it properly, my car dumps very softlyMr Blobby wrote:This is a silly question probably but i dont know alot about dump valves...

Dump Valves?!
The split-r has a distinct tishhh sound it is nice. The 007p is a lot more subtle and better performance.
Re: Dump Valves?!
Cheers, somebody above had mentioned the Split-r was difficult to setup? Not too sure what they meant by that?! So it looks like the Forge 007p is the one most folk have gone for without the blow off.benmkiv wrote:The split-r has a distinct tishhh sound it is nice. Re: Dump Valves?!
The Split-R is an adjustable dump valve, you turn the top to apply/release the pressusre on the spring inside so it will hold more or less boost, problem is the adjustable bit has about 50+ positions end to end, so unless you have an F1 team in your garage or you know your s**t, its pretty hard to get perfectAAGTI wrote:Cheers, somebody above had mentioned the Split-r was difficult to setup? 007p is just different coloured springs for different boost pressures (Stock, Stage 1, Stage 2 etc.), much easier!
My 007p sound is not far off the Split-R I have because I have an open cone filter, the "ttssshhhhhh" sound can be heared from the cone filter on the 007p whereas the Split-R had a little horn and could be heared out my filter also
You can do it with the stock dump valve, open up your airbox lid and rev the engine, you will hear the "ttssshhhhhh" from your filter box, obviously quiter than a 007p though
