Polo 6R DRL's

Post by darrenpolo »

Has anyone fitted aftermarket LED daytime running lights to their polo? I'm a bit disappointed that my gti has the dipped beams on all the time and I cant get the OEM ones. I also looked into getting the one that install on the bumper as seen here: http://www.polodriver.com/polo-2009/vol ... -and-golf/ but they don't fit on a gti or bluemotion apparently (can't see why not as the bumpers are the same surely)

So what i'm wanting to know is does anyone have pictures of aftermarket drl's installed on their polo?

I may even get vw to disable the dipped beam drl and install some philips 4 daylight ones, don't know how good that'll look tho

Just don't buy those awful cheapo units they sell in places like Halfords, people are sticking them all over their cars...not a good look.
The xenon package with DRL's is the first option I picked on my GTI, personally I think they make the car stand out.
Hang on to your dosh, wait for the Polo R to come out and have them on there.

What jonny said. The OEM LED DRL's should be available any time soon, as myself and jonny have been quering our local dealers for several months now. Check the thread jonny mentioned :)

Can't you delete the DRL function on the Halogen lights through VCDS and then simply get LED's for the Fogs and set them up as DRL's?

Yeah as I mentioned in my original post the oem drls will not fit the gti or the bluemotion.

Ps can't have fogs as drl either as it's illegal (unless they are driving lights, bulbs low output)

I know, that's why I said to fit LED's. A few people have had LED DRL's fitted into the fog light position on the Golf models and the manufacturer give paperwork to say so, just in case you get pulled by the plod. :)

Awesome guide that Hurdy. That silver mk5 looks familiar.. I don't think the round drl's look nice at all, the strip LED's on the red mk5 look knockout 8) Taking my car into my dealer to see to a rattle next week so i'll ask again about the OEM LED DRL's and see if there's any more info :)

Something else that may interest you all.

Some switches you can buy for the Polo 6R. Top left for DRL's

I may have to get the ejector seat one for laughs and giggles.
