Re: 1.2 Polo Match :D
Same, i thought they woulda looked more mean, like the Polo R? Maybe they would look better if they where 18's? This is making me think that spraying my Riva's would possibly be a better decision than going for these rims eh?
Re: 1.2 Polo Match :D
Yeah, they'd look nice in Black imo. I'm holding out for some VW Motorsport 17"/18" but i'm getting my springs fitted on the 25th of FebNeilMcConville wrote:Same, i thought they woulda looked more mean, like the Polo R? Re: 1.2 Polo Match :D
Heres just a little update for any new members etc. At the start of this thread I had numerous plans for my Polo. Below is a list of what I have completed up to date and what I still hope to do in the future
Any other ideas/opinions for me?
Completed:
- 17" Alloys
- H&R 25/40 Lowering Springs
- HID Kit and Sidelights
- Interior Lights Changed To White Lights
- De-Badge Rear
Future Plans:
- GTI Rear Diffuser and Upgraded Exhaust
- GTI Side Skirts
- GTI leather Steering Wheel
- Black Wrapped/Painted Mirrors and Roof
- New Reg

Re: 1.2 Polo Match :D
Wouldn't bother with any of the GTi parts personally, I wouldn't mind a nice exhaust system but there's limited available for the 6R. I'm considering a Revo air filter, I know there won't be any performance gains but it might make a nicer engine note. The black wrapped roof/mirrors is a good shout also. Apart from those i'm just waiting for the LED DRL retrofit from VW.

Re: 1.2 Polo Match :D
You still gonna get the ones in the fog lights or change the full headlight unit?

The parts are available from Germany at the moment, but no dealer will go near them until they launch in the UK. I was informed from my dealer these would be hitting the UK in the new year.. but i'm yet to see anything
Re: 1.2 Polo Match :D
About the GTi side skirts.. they're only an ABS plastic insert that fits onto the existing side skirt from the normal-joe Polo. I saw a couple on sale on eBay a few weeks back for £80. I don't think they'd be too expensive to source from a dealer if you could find the part number

Re: 1.2 Polo Match :D
Would you not rather the lights that go into where the fog lights are instead, i think you posted a picture of a polo a while back with it? I think it looks better than the strip above the fog light.
Yeah the side skirts would be handy enough to get and fit id say, but would look silly without the back bumper do you not think? :/ I know you love keeping it all OEM and not turning a non gti into something that looks like one, but i do think it would look much better than standard

Re: 1.2 Polo Match :D
Those installed instead of the fogs just cry out 'Rice-boy retrofitted LEDs' to me..
I prefer the ones over the fogs, I know they're not everyone's cup of cha but it's my car so sod what everyone else thinks
The black plastic inserts on the side skirts wouldn't be ripping off a GTi really and as long as you keep any exterior modifications OEM parts, it's not gonna look a dogs dinner
